Laundry

Text: COVID-19 Update

University guidance on face covering and physical distancing in indoor spaces is changing. Please review the University’s directives on summer to fall phased guidance

Introduction

Energy-efficient laundry facilities, provided by CSC Serviceworks, are available in each residence hall and are free of charge. Laundry rooms are available 24/7 unless residents have been notified otherwise.

It is the responsibility of the resident to monitor their laundry while it is in the laundry room. The University is not responsible for lost or damaged items that were left in the laundry room unattended. Laundry that is left in the laundry room will be bagged and stored until the end of the semester. Unclaimed items it will be donated at the end of the semester.

Residents can use an external vendor for laundry services; however, Columbia Housing does not sponsor or sanction other vendors.  If you choose to utilize an external laundry service, Residential Life, Columbia Housing, and Facilities and Operations are not liable for any loss or damage associated with the use of that service. Concerns or issues related to the use of an external laundry vendor should be directed to the vendor. Additionally, these vendors do not have access to residence halls.

The LaundryView monitoring system allows residents to check machine availability and see how much time remains in their cycle from a computer or phone. To report an issue with a machine that is not working properly, please place a Service Request directly with the vendor. If you are unable to place the Service Request, contact the Hartley Hospitality Desk at 212-854-2779 during the hours of operation.
