Each year, those students who are unable to select during Room Selection are added to the sophomore waitlist. For sophomores, particularly those who draw higher lottery numbers, this process requires additional time managing inventory and finalizing assignments. All guaranteed students will receive an assignment, in some cases it requires additional time or a 'waitlist.'

We've added some FAQs to help provide additional clarity around the waitlist and what students on the list can expect in terms of receiving updates and their room assignment. Any questions left unanswered by the FAQs can be directed to housing@columbia.edu.

The notification process to students who have applied for Summer Housing is in progress. If you will be living on campus for Summer A or the Full Summer (Summer A + B) here are the details you'll need to know.

Today begins official online Room Selection. Stay up-to-date on the rooms being selected with this real time viewer, available in the Housing Portal.

All students participating in Room Selection 2021 should have received their individual or group appointment time by email today. A full list of all appointment times is available in PDF format on our website, sorted alphabetically or in appointment time order. If you have questions, contact us at housing@columbia.edu.

Room Selection lottery numbers for individuals and groups were sent by email today to all students registered for Room Selection.

Everyone eligible for Columbia Housing needs to register in the Housing Portal even if you are not planning to participate in Room Selection. A quick guide with step-by-step registration instructions is available.

The Room Selection process is proceeding as if we will be reunited on campus for the fall semester. Make sure to register for the Virtual Info Session that is scheduled for your class.

Support is provided in-person or via telephone.

Although the University will be closed on 12/24, 12/25, 12/31, and 1/1, the Hartley Hospitality Desk will continue to provide student support with no changes to its hours of operation.
