Cancellation Policy

How to Cancel

In order to cancel a Summer Housing application or room assignment, you must submit notice to Columbia Housing. You will continue to be charged for occupancy until

  1. the Housing Portal 'Cancellation' step has been completed,
  2. the premises have been vacated,
  3. the keys have been returned to the Hartley Hospitality Desk (if applicable), and
  4. you have officially checked out at the Hartley Hospitality Desk. 

A resident cancelling their Summer Housing application for any reason prior to taking occupancy will incur charges as per the cancellation chart below, in addition to the non-refundable application fee. Failure to Check-In will also result in a cancellation charge.

 

Cancellation Fees 2019

Spring Interim
Cancel by May 17: $100
Cancel between May 18 - May 27: No Refund

 

Summer Session I and Full Summer Session
Cancel prior to May 1: $100
Cancel between May 1 - May 26: $250
Cancel between May 27 - June 16: $250 + Proration according to date of Check-Out
Cancel between June 17 - July 5: No refund

 

Summer Session II
Cancel prior to June 15: $100
Cancel between June 15 - July 6: $250
Cancel between July 7 - July 28: $250 + Proration according to date of Check-Out
Cancel between July 29 - August 16: No refund

 

Fall Interim
Cancel by August 15: $100
Cancel between August 16 - August 31: No Refund
