The Room Selection process is proceeding as if we will be reunited on campus for the fall semester. However, on-campus housing decisions are subject to state, city, and University guidance and may change as public health recommendations evolve.

How Room Selection Works

Visit the Room Selection section of our site to learn more about how Room Selection works. We've made helpful videos with the Residence Hall Leadership Organization (RHLO) to explain the process. 

What's New

In a year where many of our students couldn't be on campus to explore residence halls, we've brought the residence halls to you! Take a virtual tour of the residence halls popular among rising sophomores to learn more about each building's living spaces, rooms, and amenities.

Key Dates

  • 2021 Room Selection Information Sessions will be held virtually via Zoom. Registration is required. Please visit the Housing calendar to register and access the Zoom link.
    • For rising seniors: January 28
    • For rising juniors: February 2
    • For rising sophomores: February 4
    • The Housing team and RHLO members will be moderating the virtual sessions to answer questions.
       
  • Room Selection Registration is a required step for all students and must be completed between February 15 at 10 AM and February 25 at 4 PM.
    • All students must register on the Housing Portal before February 25 and state their intent for housing. This is required in order to maintain guaranteed housing status. This includes Resident Advisers, Fraternity and Sorority Life members, students registered with Disability Services, Study Abroad participants, and/or students taking leave of absence.
    • To avoid cancellation fees, students intending to move off campus should also notify Housing of their intent by completing the registration process.
       
  • All steps of the Room Selection process are completed online via the Housing Portal.
    • Lottery numbers posted: March 4
    • Appointment times posted: March 11
    • Room Selection: March 15 - April 15

Our ability to offer campus housing is contingent on New York State directives. Health guidance based on the evolving pandemic may result in changes to campus density for the fall semester. We appreciate your flexibility during this time.
