Final Check-In Reminder
Confirmation of Quarantine Status
At Check-In, students will be asked to verify the quarantine status provided to Columbia Housing. If there has been a change to your state or country’s status since this date, our team will identify any necessary changes to assignments. For students who need to quarantine, Columbia Health has designed a series of programs and services – learn more.
Instructions for Guests
Each student is permitted one guest to assist during the move-in process. Guests may not accompany students to the Check-In station or COVID-19 testing center in Lerner Hall.
Guests must wait at the assigned residence hall, where they will be asked to complete a symptom attestation form. A guest arriving from a state, territory or country not on the New York Travel Advisory restricted list will be permitted inside the residence hall with you after they complete the form. Guests arriving from a state, territory or country on the New York Travel Advisory restricted list will only be permitted inside the residence hall if they have completed a 14-day quarantine and complete the attestation form. All guests must comply fully with the terms of the Columbia Community Health Compact, including the wearing of masks at all times and an adherence with physical distancing practices.

- New Students: Make sure you submitted your ID Card photo
The University ID card is your room key. You will not be able to Check-In or access your room without your ID card. Please be sure to submit your photo immediately, if you have not already.
- Confirm your COVID-19 test appointment:
A COVID-19 gateway test is required for all students living on campus. You must schedule this as part of your Check-In appointment. Visit the Columbia Health Patient Portal at secure.health.columbia.edu to schedule your required COVID-19 gateway test. Make sure you have the QR code for your appointment on hand to gain access to the testing site. Proof of completed testing is required to enter your residence hall.
- Prepare to Complete Daily Symptom Self-Check
All faculty, staff, and students are required to complete a symptom self-check every day before entering campus premises. Check-In is the first day you must complete the self-check. You can complete the self-check online or download a mobile app called ReopenCU. You will be required to show proof of completion to enter Lerner Hall for your COVID-19 test. Please do not save this step until the last minute.
- Understand Health and Safety requirements
The University has outlined several Health and Safety policies or requirements for all members to follow, in order to keep our community healthy. Make sure you’ve read through and completed these important items.
