Intern Personal/Non-Columbia Owned Furniture Policy
Columbia maintains a strict furniture policy to ensure fire safety and protect the cleanliness of the rooms.
All rooms are furnished appropriately for its occupants with a desk, dresser, wardrobe and/or closet and bed.
When personal furniture is brought into the residence halls, it must fit into the bedroom or suite and must be purchased new, as used furniture can contribute to pest problems.
Please keep in mind the following:
Interns are responsible for removing personal furniture from their rooms when they move out of the building or they will be charged for its removal. Interns will be charged for any personal furniture that causes pest problems. Columbia Conference Housing may amend these guidelines at any time and reserves the right to require the immediate removal of any personal furniture for any reason.
