The NYC Experience
New York City
New York City is the most vibrant place to be over the summer. There are a number of free events and festivals that you can take advantage of during your stay here: Good Morning America concerts, yoga in Central Park, museums and attractions (The Bronx Museum of the Arts, The Hispanic Society of America, Museum of Biblical Art, Irish Hunger Memorial, Queens County Farm, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, to name a few), Governor’s Island, The High Line, Botanical Gardens, Movies on the Hudson Pier, and more!
Visit New York City Parks for more information about free events.
During the months of May and June, the temperature ranges from 50-80 degrees, although it is possible for it to reach 90 in the later days of June. In May, light spring jacket or sweater is recommended for cooler days. In July and August, the temperatures range from 70-95. In general, layers are better for New York City, as the weather can change unpredictably. We recommend bringing an umbrella especially if you plan exploring the city.
