Cancellation Policy

How to Cancel

In order to cancel a Summer Housing application or room assignment, you must submit notice to Columbia Housing. You will continue to be charged for occupancy until

1) the online ALP Cancellation form has been completed,
2) the premises have been vacated, 
3) keys have been returned to the Hartley Hospitality Desk (if applicable) or University ID card has been deactivated, and
4) you have officially checked out at the Hartley Hospitality Desk. 

Cancellation Fees

A resident who cancels their Summer Housing application for any reason prior to taking occupancy will incur charges, per the cancellation chart below. Failure to Check-In also will result in a cancellation charge.

Full Summer Session
Cancel Prior to May 1: $100
Cancel between May 1 - May 20: $250
Cancel between May 21 - June 28: $250 + Proration according to date of Check-Out
Cancel between June 29 - August 12: No refund

 

Summer Session A
Cancel Prior to May 1: $100
Cancel between May 1 - May 20: $250
Cancel between May 21 - June 2: $250 + Proration according to date of Check-Out
Cancel between June 4- June 12: No refund
 
Summer Session B
Cancel Prior to June 1: $100
Cancel between June 1 - June 110: $250
Cancel between June 11- June 26: $250 + Proration according to date of Check-Out
Cancel between June 27 - July 9: No refund
 

 

Summer Session C
Cancel Prior to June 18: $100
Cancel between June 19 - July 15: $250
Cancel between July 16- July 25: $250 + Proration according to date of Check-Out
Cancel between July 26 - August 12: No refund
