FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

I am only staying for two nights instead of three. Can you prorate my housing fee?

Unfortunately, we cannot prorate the housing fee as all the rate is fixed for a three-night stay. For more information about housing rates, please visit Accommodations and Rates.

How long do I have to cancel without penalty? How do I cancel?

Please review the cancellation policy before registering for Commencement Housing. Cancellations made before April 1 will be at no extra charge. However, those who cancel on or after April 1 will be charged a fee equal to the cost of the first night’s room. Please visit Reservations and Cancellations to submit a cancellation form. Phone cancellations will not be accepted.

When do you sell out?

Each year is different, but we typically begin booking to capacity in April. We recommend registering in February or March.

Can I check in early or check out later?

Unfortunately, due to the building preparation work necessary after students check out, guests are unable to check in early. We are also unable to accommodate any late check-outs as we need to prepare rooms for our next conference group. If you are interested in staying in New York City before or after Commencement Housing, we recommend visiting Off-Campus Accommodations and contacting one of the locations.

Can I reserve more than one room/suite?

Only one suite per family is available to each graduating senior.  However, if we have any additional rooms close to the end of the reservation period we will do our best to accommodate you. Please email Conference Housing with your request.

I am unable to complete my registration on the Housing portal. Who should I contact?

Please contact our Conference Housing office by phone: 212-854-0365 or by email and we will be happy to assist you.
